Microsoft announced is accidentally that The OS Giant has acquired Email Startup Acompli. This acquisition means that Microsoft is now all set for picking up of a powerful Email Client for the iPhone as well as Android and hence, thereby cementing the Company’s position in cross platform technology.
Rajesh Jha, VP of Outlook stated that “We’re excited about what’s possible as we build on the app’s success and bring it together with work currently in progress by the Outlook team. Our goal is to deliver fantastic cross-platform apps that support the variety of email services people use today and help them accomplish more.”
However, it doesn’t mean that the Email app for Android and iOS is going anywhere as been clarified by the Company.”Your app and accounts will continue to work and the team will continue on our fast pace of improving and adding new functionality every couple of weeks.”
ACOMPLI IS THE MOBILE EQUIVALENT OF MICROSOFT OUTLOOK
As far as Acompli is being concerned, then, it is a professional grade Email app. Moreover, it works similar to the Desktop version of Outlook and have varied features like Combining Contacts, Calender and Mail in a single interface. This announcement came just weeks after the Acompli CEO analysed the Microsoft Office for iPad and reported the lack of Outlook email app for iOS. The Acompli CEO went steps ahead complaining about the Microsoft’s Agendas as well as lacks in Microsoft Outlook app on iOS which is currently working on Apple OS.
Although we are still unaware of what Microsoft will do with newly acquired Acompli but it is highly possible that it will be integrated in Office 365 App since Takeover the Acompli was the next logical step of the company in the office expansion.
